"can i just check something please steph
i rent from other people, haven't got my own villa, i understood mailboxes were "closed" at certain times eg wont be collected from
obviously your saying that the mailman will collect though"

    Tezz
I know some developments people have been told that as they are short term rental homes then no mail will be collected or delivered but where we are on Hampton Lakes, even though it is mainly short term rental we do have daily deliveries/collections. I know it is still current as my cousin comes back from my place today and he said a letter had been sent for my daughter and should he bring it back and when we were over in APril I posted outgoing mail and it was collected.

I am paranoid about getting all the details finalised and I am always early!!! but came unstuck one year when we were off to Brittany, we travelled down and stayed overnight in Plymouth, up at 5am yes 5am to catch ferry. Arrived feeling smug that we were obviously the first in the queue, after several minutes a chap wandered over and asked what we were doing "waiting for the 6.30 ferry we replied" his reply to DH which is now the family joke was "not today sonny" we were a day EARLY!!
yOU CAN IMAGINE HOW POPULAR I WAS,??????? so now I always check, check and check again all the details.
I have 2 files of email print outs/ confirmations/ directions/etickets etc etc etc you name it I have a copy. I havent even begun the photocopy exercise yet!!
So I think we are all crazy!!

I can understand how you are feeling, but I always remember that anything I do forget can be purchased in Orlando, usually from wal-mart. As long as you have your tickets, passports and credit cards anything else you can get when you arrive. In fact I have found that most things are cheaper in the states so I only take a bare minimum with me and go shopping when I arrive!
Plus you will find that the Americans are so friendly and helpfull if you do have a crisis they are only too happy to help.
Heres hoping you have a wonderful holiday and I can't wait to return next March.

But I forgot my camera and camcorder I couldn't afford to buy a new one. I could buy a cheap camera and make do - but not a camcorder[:0]

On a lighter note the first time we visited Florida it was with my Sister-in-law and her hubbie, we are both great list makers and on a regular basis would phone each other up if we thought of something else that should be packed or added to the ever growing list. We had decided that we would wear the shoes (on the plane) that we intended wearing for the two weeks to save space in the cases.
On the morning of the flight I phoned Janet to make sure she was up and every thing was ready, it was. We met them at Gatwick, checked in and decided to get a cup of coffee while Janet was queing up I noticed her shoes. She had actually come out in her slippers and left her very comfy shoes by the front door !!!
Just goes to show that sometimes all the lists and double checking in the world does`nt help when your excited and in a flap

That's too funny But probably the type of thing my Mum will do - I'll make sure that I check EVERYONE'S feet before the taxi leaves to take us to the airport!!

We fly to Gatwick at 6.30pm on Friday 2nd July, which just happens to be my son's last day of term. I chose the last flight out specifically so I could put my son to school that day as I couldn't cope with putting the dogs to kennels, finishing packing AND having a hyper 6 year old bouncing off the walls saying "Are we leaving yet? Are we leaving yet?" every 27 seconds. I'm a baaad Mummy lol It's going to be a case of collecting him from school, getting him changed and then leaving.

Ooh, there goes my churning stomach again!
