    Am I strange?

16 days and counting until our first Florida holiday (well, 16 days till we fly to Gatwick - 17 days till we actually hit Florida!) - and my stomach's churning! I am SO nervous that I've forgotten something crucial. Am I weird in feeling like this? This is the first time I've done the booking of all the various parts of the holiday (villa, flights, car hire, park tickets etc) and although I'm (relatively) sure that everything important is done and dusted, I've got a huge fear that I've mucked up somewhere along the line!

Please - someone reassure me that I'm not abnormal!!

No your not abnormal at all. With all the plans etc its natural to worry you have forgotten
something to plan. Just sit back relax and in 17 days time go and have a great holiday

    Hi Elaine

We have been to Orlando at least 15 times in 10 years and we still get nervous that we have forgotten something, it is almost like we are frightened that we are getting tto complacent and then we'll forget something.

Also don't mistake nerves for excitement, we are just as excited now looking forward to our next trip in September as we were on our first.

If you haven't already made a list of things to do / take then you might find it helpful to do so and then cross them off when you have done them.

As long as you have your tickets / booking confirmation / money / passports / and all members of your party [)]- anything that you forget to pack can be purchased in America.

I am sure you will ahve a great time, let us know how you get on by posting a Trip Report

    Elaine,

I agree with DMC - As long as you have your tickets, confirmation, some money, passports and I would add to that credit cards, anything that you forget can be brought in America. Actually try to leave something at home to leave space in your suitcase for all your bargins and souvenirs !
    You'll have a great time.

Don't forget the driving licence too.

I'm a worrier too - you are probably more likely to have forgotten something if you are not a worrier.

    Hi Elaine
I'm the same. We're off next week. I've had the panic of passports (are children still allowed to travel on their parents!), tickets, arriving at Gatwick (twilight check-in or not?) and all the other things too!
I think I'm sorted and as has been said as long as you get to Orldando, have your accommodation and car hire (tickets for parks too!) and credit card (or two!!) and holiday party there anything forgotten can be bought in US.
    We are so excited.
Roll on next Wednesday. We should have just taken off and beginning to hit cruising altitude (I think).
    Regards

I think it's only natural to worry if you've done everything, particularly if you're arranging it all yourself for the first time. But, think how much more careful you'll have been with the arrangements compared to a travel agent who probably does loads per day.

I'm sure you've done everything perfectly (as DMC says, make a list if it helps so that you can cross stuff off) and that you'll have a wonderful time in Florida. You can come back and tell us all about how wonderful it all was and how unnecessary it was to worry in the first place.

    Elaine,
definatley not wierd, we don`t go until Jan 2005 and although I am sure I have all the big things sorted out I regularily check my holiday envelope and re-file everything. I agree with DMC make a list it does help and you will probably find that you everthing covered, have agreat time and relax because it`s pretty hectic when you get out there [8D]
