The place where i go is on Oakridge, if you drive from Belz factory outlet along oakridge you eventually cross Orange Blossom Trail (OBT), after crossing OBT the shop is on the right after about half/mile. Its only a small gun shop, but it has a range on the side for about 4 shooters.
Yes they will give training if you require, it costs about $10 for the range and you can just keep going back out with diferent guns (one at a time). The extra cost comes from buying ammo for each gun. I would guess for an hour or two of shooting diferent guns expect to pay $50-60.
The Uzi was extra though add extra $20 for this.
With regard to kids been allowed not sure, i think they let a max of 2 people to one lane, all you need is ID, i used UK driving card.
The shop is cool as they have all kinds of guns on the wall, AK47, sniper rifles, the works, i got them to let me get pics with them all.

    Regards,

Here's something interesting. I relocated to Florida (Jacksonville) about 10 years ago from Nevada. I had some handguns so I called the local police station. I was told I don't have to register handguns in Florida. Ten years later I'm living in North Orlando and I have two Ruger handguns and a couple of black powder 44 cal. replica civil war pistols. None of them registered.
If you want a concealed handgun carrying permit there is a course you have to attend. And I think now you have to have a legitimate reason for needing to conceal your weapon.
But if you just want to shot, go to any weapons range. Most will rent any gun you've ever wanted to shoot!
Just another part of the Great American Dream!

You don't need a license to own a gun. There's a short waiting period while the authorities check that you aren't a homicidial postal worker! Then you can have your gun. I had guns in Nevada before I was a US citizen. My green card was ID enough.

    Hi Neil

Are you a Brit ? Yes

What did you need to get a licence? you need a GC and live in florida for 3 months and are require to provide such as utility bills to prove it..Florida is a "shall issue" state. you are not required to tell them why you want it...Without a carry permit you can still own a gun no problem..to keep in the house or car..there are rules but very easy to comply.. currently there are around 330,000 carry permit holders out there in Florida .. the licence cost is $117 for 5 years then $65 for renewal... training cost's vary but can be a little as $60.. But the hardest thing of all is deciding what to carry... Interesting the Florida permit is not only for guns ,,it also permits pepper spray, billy clubs, knives, stun guns..etc.

    Hi Ray

Yes i`m a Brit, hoping to get sorted with a business towards end of year or start of next, with an E2 visa (Crossed fingers).

Do i take it from your message that a E2 visa doesn`t qualify for a licience, but a Green Card does ? [msncry]

While i`m asking why do you feel the need to carry a weapon all the time ?, i`ve only ever felt uncomfortable/worried whilst i was in Fort Lauderdale and a guy tried to get money from me as we came out of a restaurant which was off the beaten track, nothing happened but it was a little worrying at the time.
Orlando seems so laid back i wouldn`t have thought you need one, but i guess people get robbed everyday.[msnmad]

Only really wanted one to use on ranges when i need to let off steam.[msnwink]
