Here's a good question.
My sister's family have booked a vacation this summer. They arrive in Sanford, collect their mini-van and drive to their three bedroomed house (villa) in Kississimme. Problem is, they won't be given the address until the day of arrival. Is this normal? I'd like to go check out the house and the neighborhood before they arrive.

We were in this position the first time we went over,we had no idea where we were going untill we picked up the keys.
Luckily we were very happy with our villa.
Does your sister not have the name of the management company or community it is in.
The good folks on this site especially the villa owners know where the good villa areas are and where the bad ones are.
I take it Jeff that your sister booked via a tour operator or management company? Unfortunately, that's what happens and homes are allocated on arrival so that you don't get to know the address (or sometimes even the community) before you leave the UK. So this isn't at all unusual unfortunately.
I don't think that there's very much she can do about this (apart from try asking the tour operator for the name of the community that she's likely to be in if they know this in advance) but all the home communities should be to a certain standard of facilities and cleanliness and I assume she will have already a list of the amenities at the homes? If she's not happy with the home allocated, then she should make sure that she asks to be moved as soon after arrival as possible.
Now, if she'd rented from a private home owner, she could have all the info she could ever possibly need!

She might actually find a problem in not knowing the address with the visa waiver form now. I'm not sure you will get away with putting the tour operators office.
We have booked through an agent for our flights and have been sent a form saying they need address (of first night at least ) , theyve also asked for MC details but I dont see why they need those and will be asking them to prove it is necessary since we have our phone no etc and they can contact us as easily as the mc.

[/quote]Any MC bookings are normally told to use the MC contact details but, as Steph's said, I'm not sure how long this will continue. At the moment though (four weeks ago) you're only asked for one address on the INS visa waiver form and no telephone number at all.

2 weeks ago I booked a flight to the USA for my husband and I had to provide an address for the first nights stay!
When we arrived at immigration at Charlotte last wednesday, an officer was walking along the line checking each green visa waiver form. The guy behind me did not have an address as to where he was staying and was cosequently very politely asked to go to a cubicle with an officer. Afraid I do not the result because we were next at the immigration desk.
The guests we have staying at our villa in September received a letter from Charter Travel asking for the address of our villa and also our MC's. After a long conversation with Charter Travel, it appears my UK address is sufficient. We have never been asked for this information before and I don't like the thought of having my villa details being branded about.
I give our guests all the information they need, including advice on filling in the various forms, 4 weeks before they depart.
