    Tax Free Shopping

I believe that in Florida they have Tax Free Shopping days ocassionally. this is where all puchases on the day do not attract any tax payments. Can anyone confirm or deny this? And is there any days due in July.

They are usually just before the schools go back in Florida, and usually last week of July or first week August.

Haven't seen any dates yet, but it can make quite a difference on big purchases!

Some big stores will not let you have a storecard as you are not a proper resident but often will give you a an 11% discount-these seems to be usually when they are doing a storecard promotion methinks!

Burdines will allow you to get a "passport2 from their customer service people which will entitle you to your tax back. According to the FBC newlsetter they are the only people in Florida that do.

It appears in Louisiana they do operate this scheme.

BTW, I've just heard that there will be no tax free days this year in Florida. <img src=icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>

Oh no, blotty. S'pose there's no spare cash in the kitty with the downturn in tourists.

I think the reason given was that the schools didn't have enough money!
