    Eating out in Theme Parks

    Hi,
I am a new member & I am making my 1st trip to Florida on the 26th June.
Where are the best places to eat in the theme Parks, or is it better to take your own ?

I've never taken my own food into the Park, mainly because I can't stand the thought of carrying it and also wouldn't want to eat it after it's been around in that heat for a few hours.

I do take water in though, and keep this dangling from my neck with one of those special straps that you can buy. I top up my water bottle from the drinking fountains.

Your best bet is to read through some of the threads in the various Park areas of this forum, as people make recommendations there as to the best places to eat.

    You're very welcome Ventrolla.

I seem to remember in the dim and distant past, that I emailed my pic to John and Roger (info@orlandovillas.com) and one of them sorted it for me.

As for the best places to eat, everyone has their own favourites. There are so many variables. Are you looking for fast food or full service? Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks?
You will find an amazing array of places to eat and part of the fun will be discovering favourites yourself.
    Here are some of mine.
MK -Columbia Harbour House (fast food lunch)
AK - Flame tree BBQ (fast food lunch)
Epcot- Tagerine cafe in Morrocco World Showcase
MGM -don't like their fast food but would go to the Brown Derby for a really nice dinner but $$$$$

We tend to leave the parks to eat and go over to the resorts by launch or monorail. It gives you a break from the crowds and we think that the food is better.
Just be aware that you will pay more on Disney property.
Make sure you do at least one character meal. My favourite for that would have to be Crystal Palace in Km but be warned it does get busy.
    Have a great trip.

BOOK AHEAD (usually at least a week ahead)

The best steak at Epcot is at the Canadian Resturant. I think it's called Le Cellier.
We like breakfast with the Pooh charactures at the Cryatal Palace at Magic Kingdom. It's a good buffet. $16.00 a head and kids 3 and under eating free. Book at least a week ahead.
The Rose & Crown at Epcot is ok. It's not typical British food though. It's British food with a Florida tinge! We were there on Christmas day 2003 listening to a Welsh family complaining that the 'British Christmas Lunch' wasn't up to mum's standard! Please! You are in Florida!
I can't emphasize enough..... BOOK AHEAD or you'll end up eating bad, expensive cheesburgers.
    Enjoy!

We tend to have a hefty breccie before we go to the parks, then come out mid afternoon go back
to the Villa for a swim and maybe a doze, then go back early evening and spent the rest of the
evening at the park, we then either get something to eat on the way home or eat back at the
    Villa,

Only a few times have we eaten in the parks, and to be honest it was just a burger and chips
    for the kids

You aren't allowed to take your own food in the parks, but there are so many places to try, you won't go hungry. Have a good breakfast before you go, and that will keep you stocked up to do a good few rides - then a late lunch, to avoid the Queues, [ there are many "fast food" places], and maybe a decent meal in one of the resort restaurants before you go home.

Sure you are. My family have taken our own lunch to MGM & Epcot. The guys doing the bag search even commented on our sandwiches looking good!
