US & UK Great Allies ???

Just been watching the D-Day celebrations, listening to how we and the Americans are great allies and fought shoulder to shoulder during WW2 and in all the other ones....Iraq etc.

Question that came into my head is why do the Americans make it so difficult for English people in particular to get into their country.
I refer to the A1 lottery visa program, every year lots of 3rd world countries are included in the application, but year after year England are excluded, yet strangely Ireland is included just about every year.

If we are brothers in arms why do they continue to exclude us?

The Americans always sem to be reminding us of the so-called special relationship. Sure, it was a great thing in WWII, but that is history now and should notbe confused with present day politics like Iraq (or the Arabian Nights show)
