An identity for your hire car

I've put this on before, but as it was ages ago thought it was worth bringing up again.

Buy yourself an aerial topper, those plastic novelties you can buy to put on the top of your car aerial. Be as silly as you want, that way you'll spot your car easily!

Put it on your hire car aerial along with some ribbon, or bright plastic strips to individualise it, and you'll be able to pick out your own car with ease when you come out of the theme parks or shops.

We found this invaluable advice last time we went to Disney as we forgot where exactly the car was parked (we knew the vicinity of the car only). The bright pink ribbon floating in the wind at the top of our arial was visible from a distance .

Glad to hear it was useful John!

We visited California a couple of years ago, and there is a fast food chain called Weiner Shnitzel (excuse the spelling). We have never tried their food (they do hot dogs mainly), because I know what they do to animals here for veal! But they do have a fantastic aerial topper, it's a hot dog in a long roll, with arms and legs and a worried look on his face - they call them 'antenna weenies'!! So when we visit Florida out comes the hot dog for our car aerial and I can honestly say we haven't seen another one there, which is crazy as their food outlets in California are as common as McDonalds!

At Christmas time I think we were the only car with x-mas winnie the pooh stickers in the back window. Somehow we managed to find it without any trouble!

We had the usual chrome car and only way we could find it was head in the right direction and click the key fob and thankfully the boot opened!! We'd have been there for hours some times!

Definitely remember your car reg, it sounds silly now but it won't when you get there.

Most car hire cars have the vehicle registration on the key ring. Very useful for remembering the number. Either that or take my daughter with her, it's one thing she is good at remembering.

Does anyone know where we can get a Mickey aerial topper? We've tried absolutely everywhere (including Disney) but don't seem to be able to find one at all!

You can get lots of the Disney stuff you forgot to buy yourself on Ebay. There seems to be several sellers who live near the parks and regularly sell new merchandise for a dollar or two markup.
