My friend met an American guy fell in love and moved over from Glasgow to Miami to live with him.She was back within 6 months with him in tow.She said that as fantastic as Miami was she found it all to much full time.Yes it maybe cleaner and friendlier in the US but as one person said "all countries tend to be the same except without Eastenders" once you get used to the weather the daily grind goes on.By the way my friends are now married and he loves Glasgow and says he would never move back.

Likewise, I know a Texan with an accent that you could swing a longhorn with who is married to a Swindonian woman and has lived in Wiltshire for almost 15 years. He loves it here and although he goes back to texas occasionally to meet the family, he loves it here and never wants to relocate.

We have been considering a move to the US for a while, Ray may get the opportunity with his job to move there. One of the main things that puts us off is the cost of the medical care, say what you will about the National Health Service but if you need medical care you will get it without it breaking the bank. WHen we were in Florida at Christmas my dad suffered some bad nose bleeds, we eventually had to take him to the ER. He had a wait as long if not longer than our local A&E department and the priviledge so far has cost over £1000 for a nosebleed! We were talking to an elderly couple, also waiting at the hospital and they say they pay out $850 between them per month for health care, made me appreciate the NHS alot more.[msnscared]
