baggage handlers strike

I heard on the news of a baggage handlers strike this summer anyone know when and where

From what I can find out its Heathrow and Gatwick, cant find any dates or anymore info

Mind you have a mate whose a baggage handler at heathrow so will phone him later

Have been advised by my colleague that its the Service Company Aviance who are proposing to strike due to a pay dispute.

They are based at the following airports:

Aberdeen, Belfast, Birmingham, Cardiff, Coventry, Edinburgh, Gatwick, Glasgow, Heathrow, Jersey, Leeds Bradford, Liverpool, Luton, Manchester, Stansted, Southampton and Teesside airports

No dates at yet.

Fingers crossed no forum members are caught up in this, if it happens.

Please keep us posted if you hear anything! Not that we can do anything much I suppose apart from have prior knowledge and plan a few extras in hand luggage.

I was advised that you can check with your airline and they will tell you which baggage handling company they use. We are flying Contintental and I'm going to check with them tomorrow. We also have Servisair at Edinburgh, so I'm hoping Contintental use them.

It may be worth checking with your airline.

Will keep you posted if I hear anything else.
