Gatwick Airport Hotels

Hi all
Does anyone know which Hotel at Gatwick Airport is nearest to the railway station[?] Are there any within walking distance or would it be a taxi ride[?]

If my memory is right, the train station is within the Terminal complex itself, if this is
true (others may be able to confirm this) then the terminals do have hotels that are right
next door. The Hilton is connected to the South Terminal and Im sorry I cant remember the name
of the hotel connected to the North terminal, but im sure others will know

Do the Virgin flights leave from the North or South Terminal at Gatwick[?]

Karen,
the hotels not in the terminal run shuttle buses. In december we are going to use the twilight check in ,then get the shuttle to the Marriot( hotel chain i prefer.)
I would presume but don't know for sure that the ones in the terminal charge a premium.
The train station is in the same terminal that virgin fly from.

I only remembered it Chris because we treated ourselves to an overnight there last September. Very nice hotel.

I think I remember you saying so when I asked about hotels, but we booked the Hilton as it was
connected to the south terminal
