    insurance for 'over 70s'

We'd like to take my mum & dad out with us this Xmas but my dad is 77 and my mum is 71 - which is causing us a bit of a problem with insurance. Any suggestions?

    Hi Farida,
my parents are both mid 70's and had their fair share of illness; hip replacement, high blood pressure, heart troubles, diabetes etc.
I have got them an annual insurance that covers the US for £258( covers both) from P.J. Hayman but you do have to go through a broker i believe- i did mine through work.
they have the "travel plus combined" policy.
    hope this helps

Thanks Jeff, must've been asleep over the last month 'cos I didn't pick it up - will do a search and check up.
Andrew, will look into it through our brokers at work tomorrow, thanks for the tip.
By the way, if you're still out there on 28th Dec we're having a party at ours' on Hampton Lakes - the more the merrier!

my mum is 89 and we're taking her to our home on the gulf coast this summer. she's insured with "insure and go". do a google search and you'll find it. cost us about £85 for the 2 weeks.

Mum's 82 and she's insured with Eagle Star Direct on an annual policy for GBPounds 110.40 - we chose this one as she needed more than the 31 days per trip for our next visit.

We've just got back from Orlando after a 3-week trip. My in-laws, 82 and 75 respectively, were with us. Amex insured BOTH at £202 with Worldwide Cover for 12 months at £10 million each and upto 30 days maximun stay in any one place. This suited us since they are making another overseas trip this year.

Also in Florida, ask for senior discounts in all the resturaunts as most give 10% of their meals, some a free coffee or soda. I believe the age is 55 and up.

    Hi Farida,
My wifes mother is almost 75 and travels twice a year with us to Florida. My account
with LloydsTSB (Gold or Platinum) gives my wife and I free travel insurance all year (amongst
other benefits) so I got them to add my mother in law to the policy which costs an extra £45
or so per year which I think is very reasonable. If you have a bank a/c or policy like that its worth checking out.
