Just have a search using the link at the top of the forum and put 'laptop' in as your search criteria and you should find them easily.
blott
if you are thinking of bring it home use the same search and try the words 'customs', 'duty', then have a look on the high street at home and save yourself me momey.

Dick,
I brought a laptop for my son when out there last month. I checked out loads of websites - but if you have no US address you cannot order on line or by telephone. No companies will deliver to hotels airports etc.
As far as shops are concerned I narrowed it down to 3
Best Buy [www.bestbuy.com]
Comp USA [www.compusa.com]
Circuit City. [www.circuitcity.com]
All have a good range of 15-20 in stock ranging from $850 to $2500.
Also watch out for mail in rebates that lower the price of some models. Again you need a US address to recover this discount as you'll pay full price up front. (you can use a friend / relatives address with your name for the cheque)
You can look before you go on their websites to get idea.
Don't forget though the customs limits on bringing goods back into UK.
Hope this helps
Gary
Forgot to mention - all these shops are within a few hundred yards on the Orange Blossom Trail near Florida Mall

thanks all thanks gary very useful
Following on from Chrisj's comment, depending on how much you want to spend, Toys R Us and Staples both have very good spec laptops for £999 at the moment.
It might be worth checking them out before buying from the US.

Have you tried DELL. They have a number of laptops under £840 but having said that I have just compared 2 (one on UK & one on US website). The 5150 is £799 in the UK but only $999 in the US, if you add on the sales tax you are probaly talking about £170 saving. Don't know what you would have to pay customs though.

Customs VAT on a $340 package for me came to £33.64 but there was no charge for Customs Duty on it. As a general rule of thumb I add about 25% of the total price (including shipping) and it's usually a bit less
The camcorder I just bought was £221 and the total charge (including £8 for Parcel Force) was £41.64 so about 20% overall.
Dell have a factory outlet shop on the net usually with better prices than the main Dell site, http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/de...=uk&l=en&s=dhs
Also don't forget that any laptop bought in the USA will not have the UK keboard layout etc., while you can easily alter this in Windows the printed keycaps will still be "wrong"![]()
