    Weather in Late August/Early September

We are in Orlando 19th August - 5th September, staying in Windsor Palms.
Can any of the amateur weather forecasters amongst you give me an idea of what to expect... Afternoon downpours still a threat..?
Alternatively, can you experts guide me to a suitable statistical site.?

Also, am I right in thinking it may be a bit quieter in the parks at this time as the American schools have returned after summer break.?

    Many thanks in anticipation.

Average weather averages for August & September are

August highs 91F/33C lows 73/22 rainfall 6.34 inches

    September 90/32 73/22 5.63

Unfortunately, afternoon storms or rain will be the norm.

US schools return to school between mid August and early September but remember that UK schools will still be on summer holidays then!

    Have a great time!

First time I visited in 92 it lashed with rain the afternoon we arrived., I was devistated but by about day 4 we looked forward to the daily showers as it was so warm. A few Septemebers ago we went and same thing, they just closed the pool for a wee while and the storms do not last very long and it is warm rain, but it is hurricane season. Plenty of thngs to do in the rain..like shopping.

When we went in early Sept and it rained every afternoon. However, as long as you planned for it, it was so warm it didn't matter. I remember running around in the water parks where it didn't matter whether you got wet and hubby happily reading his book under one of the big sun(???) umbrellas

We have been to Orlando several times in late August and it has rained nearly every day. As posted above you quite welcome it after the heat of the day. You learn to plan your day around the showers and it has never dampened (excuse the pun!) our enjoyment of Florida.

We are visiting Orlando in September 9th to 23rd. Are there still afternoon rain showers then?
If we are in any of the theme parks do they close the rides during the showers?

They hardly ever close anything unless the storm is a real threat. They don't close for "normal" rain.

Whenever we've been there about the same time as you are going Chris, we've only had the tail end of the rains, and then not every day. It is still the season though, so could happen.
