Haven't been to CoCoa Beach in a couple of years, but mainly went there because we were going to Kennedy, and HAD to go to see RON JON'S Surf shop!!! To be fair, if you are a first time Florida Holiday maker it was always one of the places to go on your Checklist!!! I loved RonJon's the first time but see there is a smaller version at Festival Bay near International Drive now.Great if you just want to say you have been to RonJons without doing the trip to CoCoa, but not quite as spectacular! Agree that as a beach CoCoa I did find a bit tacky personally!

I wouldn't bother to go to Cocoa Beach personally went there a few years ago nothing to do really apart from (as everybody else has said) the beach and Ron Jons Surf Shop. Daytona Beach is great though and even better Clearwater Beach - neither are difficult to find.

I got married on Cocoa Beach - it was lovely! I agree it's not "action packed" but sometimes it's nice to get away from the action.

We really liked Cocoa beach as a "day off" from the parks!!...yes there's not alot to do but that suited us.

We took a picnic and enjoyed the "space" of not having someone right next to you sunbathing as you do on alot of European beaches!!

It was also a great place to view a shuttle going up from the Kennedy Space Center!!!!!.[msnsmile2]...

There is not alot to do in Cocoa beach. We stayed at the Holiday Inn which was directly on the beach. Not a bad hotel but Personally i prefer Clearwater. Better beach and more to do.

Yeh - agreed with all everyone has said. Not easy to park - unless you to go Ron Jons which is great and you will be spoilt for choice - you can park in their car park but the pier car park always seems to be choc a bloc.

Surely the point of going to Cocoa [u]Beach</u> is to go to the beach. You know where the sea is with sand and waves - that sort of thing.

If you want other things to do, aren't there are lots theme parks and shops in the Orlando area?

The thing I would recommend most is the wonderful seafood restaurant that is just over the bridge coming towards Cocoa Beach (there were cranes etc doing work on the right hand side when we were there in May) As you reach land on the right, signal right and its the restaurant on the jetty - wish I could remember the name! Serves the best seafood I have eaten in Florida, lovely atmosphere and we tend to sit at a table on the jetty watching the wildlife in the water. Last time we were there - a beautiful manatee with her new born baby gracefully skimming the water - well worth a visit!
