We flew into Miami in April and they had bio readers and finger print scanners - it was all very quick - and still friendlier than INS at New York !!!

We were right at the back in row 64 so couldn't have been any further back without sitting on the tail. It was a bit later than we usually arrive at about 5.25 so whether that helped I don't know as it may be we missed the usual 3/4 oclock landings.

We get into Orlando at around 9:00 pm on May 20th....does anyone know if its busy then.....??
I know its very quiet in Boston at that time......

Its usually reasonably quiet in arrivals at that time, most of the activity is in departures, the large flights tend to arrive during the late afternoon - The first couple of times I went through Orlando it was from an internal flight and arrived at/after 8pm, it was a real easy walk through - the car hire queues were non existant. Its been a very different experience every since, from the UK the flights tend to arrive together around 3pm[msnsad]

At Orlando airport, Virgin have their own Dollar car rental desk, so anyone with a car booked through Virgin doesn't have to go to the same desk as the rest of us.
That was a real bonus for me back in December because I landed just after a Virgin flight. If all those Virgins had queued at the main dollar desk, I'd have been there for days!!

Not sure if it has changed, the Virgin desk is if you have booked a
vrigin holiday and car. We went to the desk last year and they
sent us to the main Dollar desk cos we only had the flight booked
with them
Chrisj
Yes, you're right Chris - you have to book the car through Virgin to use this desk. Fortunately the day that I am talking about most of the people had either booked fly/drives or holidays and so were queueing at the Virgin Dollar desk!! I was very lucky!!

I read in the Orlando Sentinel that they are increasing the number of check in desks at MCO for the summer.
Paul
There was only about 3 when we were there last year for Virgin. Mind you we did get there early and so were first in line.
Mind you now that you can check in at DTD in the morning we will be doing that then off to
a theme park for a good few hours or shopping
Chrisj
We went in via NY at Christmas and have to say they were far more friendly than Miami and MCO and extremely efficient. Guess it is all down to who is on duty on the day - we have had Winnie the Pooh's passport stamped at MCO before now - with a "please don't tell anyone"!![msnsmile2]
