    Car rental at Orlando Airport

Just booked bargain flights in July (£359 each), can't believe it, and we are flying into Orlando airport for the first time.

Has anyone got any advice as regards car rental at this airport?

Do you have to walk far? Is one much more popular than others? etc.

    Many thanks

You could look at our car hire site www.uscarhire.co.uk which allows you to choose between Dollar or Alamo at Orlando International. Both are on-airport with their desks being on the ground level of the main airport terminal.

I would suggest you hire from the UK before you go, this site do very good deals. there is
a link at the top of the page

As for the rental desks, its a floor below where you collect your luggage, and from there
you go outside walk into the car park and theres the car

    Hi

They have both Dollar and Alamo on site at the airport. You just cross the road to pick up the car, it's a piece of cake. We always use Dollar, only because they have always been cheaper. Try the link at the top of this site for car hire, as their prices are generally unbeatable.

May we ask where you got flights into MCO for £359 in July?

I just had to book the flights because I couldn't believe my luck!!!

Flying from Manchester with 'British Midland' to Chicago, then 'United Airlines' to Orlando for 3 1/2 weeks from mid July.

I know it's not direct but the quality of aircraft is good and I've saved about £2000 on other quotes (5 of us flying)

If you want to know more just PM me.

    I only booked them yesterday!

If poss and their are 2 grown up's , when you come to collect your luggage, one stay sorting out the luggage, the other pop down to sort out the car hire, as the queue's can get a bit long and take a while. It took about 30 minutes when we last out there 3 weeks ago.
(assumes you are using on-airport car-hire)

That's a really good idea, but bear in mind that all of the drivers need to go to the car hire desk.

We used Alamo a couple of weeks ago. We did fly into Orlando MCO late and there were no queues. They were [u]not</u> very helpful and told us to go into the car park and choose any car we wanted within the car group we have arranged. The car park is huge and there were no people to send us in the right direction. They also tried to sell us an upgrade and more insurance even though i had booked the full gold package before i left.
[u]Word of warning</u> when you are returning to MCO Orlando make sure you take exit 11 and not exit 11b as it says on the Alamo map. We missed exit 11 and had 15 minute extension to our trip to the airport as we had to drive around the edge of the airport to go back to the terminal building. We were not the only ones another family did the same as us and had to follow us. Woudl like to know how many more people have done this as well. We did point this out to the staff upon our arrival at the airport who told us that it was an old map and they were thinking of printing some new ones. Also if you need a trolley it cost you $3.00 or a tip of at least $5.00 for somebody to take your bags into the airport building from the car park.
