    Rechargable Batteries

A thought I had yesterday - when I go away in Europe I always take a small battery charger to charge up the batteries for my digital camera as they always take a bit of a battering

My mini charger for 4 AA Ni-Mh batteries only supports 240V so I was thinking of getting one whilst I'm out in Florida just for trips to the US.

Does anyone know where I could get a charger and roughly what I might expect to pay? I could just buy AA batteries if mine die, but my camera eats them up like there's no tomorrow!

The old favourite Walmart might be your answer. They also sell memory sticks very cheap, for Digital cameras. Battery chargers anything. Someone once told me Walmart sell everything from a loaf of bread to a gun!. When I was in Florida last I also had my photods put on CD before coming home. Took one hour excellent and very cheap. Can't remenber the cost of chargers but cheaper than UK.They also do large packs of ordinary batteries which are useful if you run out of charge.

We did the same as Chris this year but found they took all night to charge, and only take a few hours in U.K.

I dont know about the time taken to charge, all we ever do is when we get back to
wherever we are staying, we just always put the camera's on charge.

Just come back , recharging was about the same for me. The charger i have is a universal type, that runs on 110/240 volt.

It all depends on the product you are trying to charge.look on the product to see it it is dual voltage first 110/240v or you may damage it, most are these days, if not you can by a tavel adaptor with a built in transformer,(there is a Tandy in the Florida Mall).
I have found though that different products take longer to Charge in the US but the battery life tends t last longer due to the higher ambient temperature.
I have found my mobile phone will not charge there, so I take the car charger.

We bought a charger last year from Radio Shack it cost about $25 but it is a fast charger, you can get them much cheaper, but they are only trickle charge which would take hours.
