    Hi Gareth,
Its worth checking out the manufacturers of your camera. A lot of chargers now
support both voltages but don't say so. (I've a Sony camera and a Braun shaver which do support both but don't say so). The manufacturers customer services told me I could use US mains and just use an adapter, (the charger must identify the voltage somehow) Charging times were just the same as here.
    Regards.

Wal-Mart sells chargers with batteries for about $30, also try Radio Shack. About the same price.

Best bet if you can't find a charger with 110/240v input is to find one that also has a 12v car lead as well, 7dayshop have several chargers with these and this of course means you can charge your batts while driving to/from the theme parks

I've made up a lead from the usual car plug with 3 connectors for our stuff, 1 for the Rayovac 1Hr NiMh charger, 1 for the camcorder battery charger and 1 for my GMini mp3 jukebox/hard drive storage

Many thanks to all of you - I took my charger and tested it the first night - as I suspected no charging lights came on at all (it does still work in the uk though .

Walmart was the store (as usual!!) a 4 AA/AAA fast charger including 2 rechargable AA batteries was $13.48 plus tax! So i now have a US specific charger. It was handy as well - even if I had charged up and taken all my UK stock of batteries I'd never have made it through the holiday!!

Phaedra - I am interested to get more details of this lead that you have 'made up'. Sounds interesting . . .
