Bit biased i'm afraid but by far the villa. We have done both and would now opt every time for a villa holiday, in fact we are looking into renting a holiday home whilst in the Washington area this year. It gives you so much more freedom. Like I say though we are biased as we have a villa ourselves.[msnsmile2]

    Hi Paul,
Being a villa owner, there is no contest. I am biased however.

It depends on your circumstances Paul. If you don't drive, then it has to be hotels for you, but if you are a driver, then nothing can beat the freedom you get of staying in your own private villa.

But as i say Paul, I am as biased as the next villa owner

A bit biased - we have just bought a Villa (not completed yet) We have done hotel on international drive, timeshare at Buena Vista and Villa at Calabay Park. It depends on your circumstances but we found the Villa gave us more freedom (especially with children)

I like both for different reasons.......I have a house in Orlando.....but I'll still stay in a Disney hotel for a few days. if I'm staying in the area a few weeks....I just love roadtrips...so I never feel like I've been away unless I've spent time in a hotel.......

We've visited Florida most years since 1995 and have always opted for a villa ( although we do pick hotels on other trips abroad).
How many of you are there? There are usually 6 of us (Mum/Dad/2xKids/Nan/Grandad) so we chose anything from a 3 bed upwards.
If you have kids there's no contest between a room for all of you or a villa with separate rooms and the ability to feed them at any time with snacks, cereal, drinks, etc. Also to entertain them with cartoon channels/PS2/especially swimming pool/games/etc......remember if the kids are happy-so are you!!!
Even if you don't, Keith is right....the freedom of your own villa, usually with your own pool, your own kitchen, your own bedroom, big wardrobes, big tele, big fridge,etc.etc. nothing beats it.
In fact we love it so much.........we've gone and bought one too!!!

If you've got a daughter or daughters especially teenagers there is simply no contest.... it has to be a villa every time, how many hotel rooms do you know of with more than one bathroom?
The last time we stayed in a hotel our daughter was thirteen I vowed never again and we have been staying in villas ever since. We have just bought a villa on High Grove due to complete in Aug/Sept just in time for her 21st birthday. You also get so much more space and freedom it makes for a much more relaxing holiday.

Well Paul, as you can see, there is no contest, and it will be interesting to see what your thoughts are when you come back from your villa holiday.

We must be real odd.......we love all being together in the one room......eating pizza ...watching TV.......and chatting......my daughter is 23...my son is 16.......and I don't think we even fight over what we watch......it was the same when they were young......staying in a hotel was always our together time....

It's got to be a villa every time.

It's the pool that does it for us.

On the first day at disney by 7pm all the kids were asking for was to go back to the villa (at Orange Tree) so that they could go in the pool.

Some people say that our youngest(3) is just too young to appreciate going to Florida but we feel that it is about the moment and seeing her in disney and in the pool at 9pm excited as anything gives us all the memories I need.
