You might just be a little too early as you are well over a year away.

I just got my flights for this May last week!

The flights for May 2005 won't be released until around 330 days before your return flight date. The only way to get around this is to pre-register (if you try the link to flights at the top of the forum, you can do this there) or book a fly drive via a tour operator.

    Hi

We had the same trouble last year booking flights in 2002 for 2003 as there were 9 of us. We eventually booked in November 2002 for June 2003 to fly with Virgin, unfortunately our holiday company went bust in March 2003. We then had to book everything again (no money back at this point) we found flights with BA no problem at all. Eventually we received all of our money back a week before we were due to go. I would do a search now to see what prices are for this years dates and add perhaps 10% and work off that figure, bearing in mind that most scheduled flights are cheaper when they are first released. When the plane is staring to fill up the prices rise aswell. Charter flights are VERY expensive this far in advance, so I wouldn't even look at those for now.

We started looking last August for flights this July. I had the same thought as you that it would be best (as there are 16 of us travelling) Due to really high prices when the flights came on sale we didn't book until late January, and got a far better deal than if we'd booked last August. I'm not saying this is always the way to go, but 8 is not a massive no. and you shouldn't panic into booking if you're not happy with the price you get.

Scheduled airlines release space about 360 days out, we certsainly do at BA. The only thing is you would have to pay in full now, unless you booked through BA Holidays, where I think you can pay a deposit and the balance closer to the date.
