    Pushchair collection at Sanford Airport

This will only be the second time we have flown anywhere with a baby and a pushchair.
We went to Disneyland Paris last September and flew into Paris Charles de Gaulle and were handed our pushchair at the bottom of the steps as we got off the plane. On our return to Newcastle we had to wait and collect the pushchair from the luggage carousel.

Does anyone know the procedure at Sanford?
Will we have to wait until baggage reclaim or do they hand you your pushchair as you get off?

I think we got ours at the door of the plane as we got off but cannot be certain.

We had to wait until we had gone though immigration to collect it with our luggage.

I would have thought it would be sent on the carousel with your luggage, that was always
the case for us when we had to take buggies

I agree with Claire M we have had to collect it from the Carousel, I think most flights use Air-bridges now at Sanford so they don't want to clutter them up with Pushchairs.

I also seem to remember they came off on an adjacent belt to the main luggage.

As an aside does anyone else flying back into Manchester find pushchairs are always the last thing off [msnmad].

It really bugs me as they are the always the last thing loaded onto the plane and you are left holding a very tired child for an hour at the other end.

Last time we arrived back in from Sanford we waited 75 minutes for our pushchair and to add insult to injury we had got our 7th and last case 20 minutes earlier.

Yes must admit to having that too, reminds me a bit of the Peter Kay routine regarding baggage handlers, very funny!

If you think about there will b quite a few pushchairs on any one flight to orlando - pushchairs NORMALLY come out with luggage sometimes at an area called OFF SIZED LUGGAGE.

The reason they are often last off is because they go into a separate luggage hold compartment - often at the front and therefore they are often unloaded last with other so called fragile articles.

Never seems to happen at Sanford though or anywhere else I have flown with my son and his pushchair but always happens in Manchester when we get back.
