Query with Baggage Allowance on tickets

When we booked our fly drive we took an upgraded package with Thomas Cook Airlines that means you get a 25KG luggage allowance instead of 20KG and also 2 complimentry drinks and complimentry headphones and a guarenteed full size car with Alamo Gold prepaid insurance.

Our tickets have arrived and only show a 20KG baggage allowance.
The girl in our leisure sales department who made the booking for me has rang Thomas Cook Admin department in Pudsey and had a bit of a ding dong with them. They say that the booking definately shows 25KG allowance but they have unfortunatly been unable to print this on their tickets and they are all coming off show 20KG. They said they would not reprint them, but the person at check in would put my booking reference number into the computer and would know we have the extra allowance but should take our confirmation with us as proof.
This is okay when flying out as they should be able to ring Thomas Cook Airlines from Newcastle Airport and sort it out if there are problems, but when flying back from Sanford there is a $10 per kilo charge for excess baggage and i do not want to be in a situation where they only take notice of what is written on the ticket.

I phoned Thomas Cook Airlines pre flight services department on the number given with the tickets and they also say that the booking reference shows the correct amount and that there shouldn't be a problem. However, working in a travel agency i do know that we are quite often fed duff info by tour operators who would prefer clients to book direct with them rather than through agents so i am still not convinced.

Are there any Airline staff, ground crew or check in staff on this forum who could put my mind at ease.

Well, you could get the check-in person when you leave the UK to put a note on company headed paper saying that the tickets are incorrect and you have 25kg of luggage allowance?

If all else fails, get the check-in people in Sanford to ring the UK if they need further confirmation - you shouldn't have to do anything.

We flew with Thomas cook airline last year. We had the same problem as you. They sorted it out at the airport (Manchester). Although our tickets said 20k we actually had 25k allowance.

Also it should all be in the computer under your booking ref and should automatically come up when they check you in.

Will this apply at Sanford as well?

Yes it should as all the computer systems are linked - if you have anything in writing take it with you as a back up.
