Yes you can - not sure of the airlines that do it but a few do. The MCO website is showing Delta Connection/Chautauqua and Gulfstream as operating the route.

Just had a look on the web and they want $320 from orlando to key west. Some of them included a stop at Ft Lauderdale too, making a 5.5 hour trip.

Thought this was very expensive, What do you think.

It depends, if time is not on your side, it's much quicker than driving and you'll get nice views from the plane window
If you have time, do the drive, its lovely past Miami or just go one way flying one way driving, you dont pay one way charges in Florida for car hire.

If you have time, its also nice to drive down to the Keys.

We've tried it three ways over the years, down the West side from Tampa and across the Everglades, down the East side through Miami and down the middle.

Each route offers its own different benefits, but I think that the drive down from Tampa and across the Everglades is the best. The sign post telling you that there's no chance of petrol for over 100 miles and the drive along the very straight road through the middle of nowhere heading for Miami brings home the sheer size of the US.

It also brings to mind scenes from The Hitcher too ! [msnwink]
