How to get upgrade on Flights

We are travelling Thursday with US Airways. What is the chances of us been upgraded to Business class free of charge. We are not taking the children as we our sorting out the legal side of a house purchase. Are suggestions of how to get upgraded for free. Do you ask at check in?
It going to be a million one chance but if you dont try you dont get any where in the world.

They don't like it if you ask at check in - they must get asked a millon times a day!

P.S First thing to do is find out if there are any Business seats available otherwise its academic - if you PM me your flight number I will try to find out for you.

I would have thought you should be dressed smartly to stand a good chance. We were upgraded
with BA many years ago into the bubble

Think the lady upgraded us as we were going on our honeymoon, made the flight great

Honeymooners are often upgraded - space available - I got first class all the way to Bali on my honeymoon too!

Dress code is paramount - dress like you are travelling first class and it helps.

I've often wondered how you get picked for an upgrade......its not for the way we dress that for sure.....[)][)]
