big drive

HOPE ANYONE CAN HELP....I have to bring my dog in to the states in the summer,but cannot land him in Florida due to USA livestock laws.So,I have decided to fly into Washington Dc and drive down.Has anyone got an idea how long it will take me..(I have to reach Fort Myers)CHEERS bLUEBOY

Coundn't you take an internal flight from EDC to an airport as close as you can get to Florida (say Atlanta or a smaller airport even closer) and drive over from there?

I think that the refusal is something to do with the heat, and they won't fly dogs/livestock into Florida during the Summer, because they would get unbearably hot.

What do you mean!?!?! We're driving from CT, which is another 6-7 hours, and we're doing it with 4 kids! []

We drive down from Mass.....in a small two door car....with two teenagers and we sleep in the car sometimes.....now thats great fun......[8D]

Americans and Canadians drive incomprehensible distances - I've had guests say 'it's only an 18 hour drive' and couldn't understand it when I told them that if you drove in the UK for 18 hours (or even 12 come to that), you'd fall off the edge and into the sea! [msnwink]
