    Car Rental

    Hi Guys

We're flying out on 8th July and picking our car rental up at Dollar (MCO).

There's going to be 4 adults and 2 kids.

What I would like some advice on is what's the best way of (hopefully) missing big queues at the rental desk.

As three of us will be sharing the driving, would it be quicker for us to go to the rental office (as I assume we will all need to sign the paperwork) and leave the other adult and 11 year old to pick up the baggage and wait for our return. I presume if we did this we could get back to meet them at the baggage claim ok and then all go over to the car park to pick up the car

    OR

Does it make any difference in July as its probably going to be busy anyway and we'd be best to stay together. Flying in around 4.30pm.

    All replies appreciated.

    Thanks

From what people have said before it does seem best to go and collect the car while others
    are waiting for the luggage

You can either go back to the baggage claim, or they could come down to you

    Thanks Chris

I've only been to MCO once before and I wasn't sure if we'd be able to get back to the baggage claim from the lower level but, like you say, they could always come down and meet us there.

    Many thanks.

Yes you can go back to baggage reclaim - definitely worth getting in the car hire queue

    Your welcome

Mind you last we just collected our luggage and when we got to the rental desks, we were
    the only ones there.

Just make sure ALL drivers are present at the car hire desk as they ALL need to sign the Dollar documentation otherwise they will not be insured. I know Dollar will let only the lead driver sign but it is important that you know that if you drive the car and have not signed the Dollar contract then you are NOT insured and could end up in very hot water if you have an accident.

Thanks very much to both of you.

Will certainly make sure we are all present at the desk - like to drive with a clear conscience - it makes me concentrate on the road better!!!

I usually find the queus on the desk at MCO fairly thin mid-week (when you are going) - weekends tend to be manic. We normally do a quick recce before collecting the baggage

We found it empty mid week as well, but this time were flying in on a Saturday so will
more than likely collect the car before the luggage this time
