Ruth,
Our oldest really started something when he learn't to swim. His dad now teaches swimming for 6.5 hours a week and our son swims 8.5 hours a week. All because Ray said he had to learn to swim, as it was an important life skill![msnsmile]
Mind you he does win medals at county level and is working towards district level. (Our son not his dad! Who describes his Butterfly stroke as the Die & Fly![msnwink]).
Hope your children really enjoy it, ours have got so much out of it, as well as a life skill, they have made many good friends and of course stay fit and healthy.[msnsmile2]

Ruth,
Our eldest is 14 will be 15 in August, he should have been a fish. Our other son (12) has also swum at our local county trials and managed to get a medal (8th) las year. They both compete best in the 50M Breaststroke. As he has up until two weeks age only been doing 4 hours training a week at our small club he has done really well. The boys that beat him swim between 18-24 hours a week with bigger more competitve clubs. Keep your daughter swimming its a wonderful wasy to keep them fit.![]()
