    Hi all,
We are due to go to Orlando area in mid May, what sort of weather can we expect. Will jackets be needed for the evening etc. Last time we went in July and it was a little unpredictable (one minute sunny then the next very wet). Also we have requested a non-heated pool, was this a mistake for May [msnoo]

    Mandy,
we went in may a few years back, and we did not request pool heating. Me n' the kids were fine, but Sarah's big toe, did not pass the test.. Temperature wise, it gets into the 80's/90's during the day and very pleasent ( shirt sleeve )in the evening's. It will probably rain at some point during your stay, but i would say keep an eye on the tv stations for their weather reports to see if you need to take a thin jacket.

    Hi Mandy,

The main time you may need a light jacket is for the evenings in some restaurants as the air-conditioning can be quite cool. Apart from that, it should be really pleasant.

    Have fun[8D]

It can also be cold shopping in the supermarkets....it feels so odd having to wear a light jacket indoors and take if off outside.....

Mandy weather in May is lovely - lots of nice warm sun, little breeze and hardly any rain. You'll love it[8D]

You should only need a light jacket, as Gillian says to keep you warm in the air-conditioning, in the restaurants and car. Some people ask for pool heating all year round, even in the height of the summer.[msnsmile]

We love to go to Orlando in May 80's-90's during the day but much less rain than in the summer. We've been many times and never needed pool heat, but then we live in the North!!

we usually have the first 3 weeks in May-only 2 weeks this year[msncry]-and it's gorgeous.

We have experienced rain on some trips-and others none at all. One of the worst thunderstorms we've been caught in happened last year in May-but that's Florida I suppose. I still love that time of year-and you also benefit from the slightly longer days which is nice if you take a trip to the coast for the day.

We usually have the pool heat on and then it goes off after our visit and then the solar heat takes over-so the pool is never completely without heat.

It's all a matter of preference. If you think you the pool is a bit chilly you can always ask to pay for heat while you are there.

Not usually that busy in the first three quarters of May but Florida schools start their summer break around the last week in May which may make it slightly busier.
