If its months late then there will be a warrant out for your arrest. You can pull this up in a county court search. You need to contact an attorney to ge it sorted out. This sort of info is easily searchable by immigatration now. A friend recently had a hard time over an arrest that was over turned 5 years ago, he had it cleared from his file but it is still there for immigration to see, sorry.

If you do not deal with this you will have problems with re entry into the US i.e you will be arrested at the port of entry. Contact the local DMV

I have been reading posts for the past few months before purchasing our own rental home. I came across this post and thought I would clarify the process.

I am an attorney in Orlando. My law firm specializes in traffic matters.

If you have a Florida license and you pay the ticket points will be added to your driving record. That goes for any driver in Florida who has a license in another state. Florida reports points to other states.

The only way to avoid the points is to either pay the ticket and pay to go to a traffic school or take the matter to court.

Failing to respond to a speeding ticket (so long as that was the only charge - and as long as the ticket says "infraction that does not require a court appearance") will result in late charges added to the ticket and will cause your license to be suspended until the matter is resolved.

There will not be a warrant our for your arrest so long as it is just a non-criminal traffic ticket such as speeding, stop sign etc.

However, if you are pulled over while driving with a suspended license, you will either receive a notice to appear in court on the charge (it is a criminal offense - misdemeanor) or you will be arrested.

My website goes into great detail on these matters (I read the forum rules and will refrain from including the link) if you have any other questions let me know.

You should really phone the local DMV.. no-one can say for sure what will happen when you land.....or pick up your hire car........I would think the fine is now larger because of interest......if they say they have canceled your licence in FL State...then get someone else to drive......till you're sure whats happening......
