Chrisj must have a PS2 with a mod chip fitted, otherwise the games wouldn't work.
Chipping is illegal in the UK, although you can buy the mod chips and get them installed all over the place.
The good news is that the Spanish courts recently judged in favour of the consumer's right to alter their games console (i.e. install a mod chip) as it is no longer the property of the manufacturer.
If this spreads around Europe, the day may come when regionalisation of games (and DVDs) disappears completely.
