    Help x

    Hi all!!
I wonder if any of you experts can help me? Me and My boyfriend are coming over for 17 days on 22nd April, doing 10 days in Orlando and 5 nights in Miami - could you tell me what sort of clothing we will need as we're not sure on weather etc etc. Also is Epcot worth a look seeing as we r only there for 10 days we have to shortlist the parks!!!

    Hi Charleigh

We're going over on 11th April and have asked the same question. Looks like not much other than summer gear required as it will be hot, but would be good to hear from the guys if they think we'll need anything warmer for evening time.

We last went in September and it rained every afternoon so hoping we are not going to get April showers over there.

    Have a nice time.

    Hi Charleigh

Weather should be in the low 80's with very little rain. Pack your usual summer clothes!Click on the following link which will give seasonal averages:-

We always come out at the end of April begining of May and will be arriving on the 30th of April.

In general the weather should be warm in the early to mid 80's but it can feel hotter sometimes, due to the humidity, - shorts and t-shirts will be the order of the day [8D][8D]

You may get the odd Tunderstorm in the afternoon so be prepared to use an umbrella or take shelter at short notice.

One thing worth noting is that the strength of the florida sun is not to be under estimated, the temps might be very pleasent but the Sun Index will be close to 9 or even 10 - so pack your sun cream.

In the UK even at the height of the summer months, the Sun Index for the UK doesn't go much above 7 - 8.

It is very easy to forget that just by walking around the parks in warm conditions, you will be catching those UV rays very easily - so take care for the first few days at least - you'll soon spot the ones who haven't - there the ones with the bright red shoulders and necks - very painful - don't let it can spoil your holiday.

You will probably need a lightweight jacket as well, sometimes it can feel a little cooler in the evenings or mornings relative to the day and many of the restaurants have the air conditioning on too high and can feel nippy.

Hi, I spent 2 years living in Miami.
As Miami is in Southern Florida its climatically quite different in the winter and spring months to central florida. It's good news though, as it's warmer (and more humid) with frequent afternoon thunderstorms. Evenings are mild and you won't need any warm clothes in April.
    Have fun !

I always get cold in the air conditioned restaurants so I would take light jumper or something for then - but then I am always cold[msncool]

We have been twice in April during the day day and into the early evening T Shirt & Shorts is enough if you are waiting around in the evening at the parks for fireworks etc. then it can feel a bit chilly and a jumper is handy. The Ist time we went which was the last 2 weeks in April we saw no rain at all and could not understand the need for such large drains! The 2nd visit was the first 2 weeks in April we saw rain - lots of rain - unless you have been to Florida and witnessed the rain you will not understand, when it rains, it rains, but it stops just as quick as it starts and you soon get used to it. You might think you would never be seen dead in a poncho, think again!

    hi charleigh
Epcot is well worth a visit, and if you get a hopper ticket you could at least visit all the disney parks .You could visit there website and make a shortlist of the attractions you would like to see or go on ,and ignore the rest(Until your inevitable next visit} Personaly I would visit, Magic kingdom,Epcot,MGM,Univeral(both)and SeaWorld
