    Florida school holidays

Does anyone know when the Florida schools go back after the summer break this year? will the parks be much quieter when they do?

I understand from my Cousin who lives in Florida and has season Passes that September is very quiet with MOST of the US just back at school, parents are reluctant to take them out for a holiday at the beginning. We went with all the chidlren in October-our school system gives a few days in October and the park was LOVELY- we met my cousin there and that is when she said September to her feels the quietest.

Unfortunately we are only able to go during the UK school summer holidays and I thought I had read somewhere that the Florida schools went back early in August, which would make the later part of August a better time for us to go.

The kids in Florida in that area go back to school usually after the 8th of August but I dont think that Disney is less crowded after these dates as there are certain zones that go back early but I grew up in Chicago and the kids there go back to school the end of August early September.

Thanks. It looks like it won't make too much difference to us.

We went for the last 2 weeks of August 2001 and all the parks were much less busy than we had been led to believe.
We went early returned to hotel for a break and then went back at about 5 in the evening.
We never queued more tham 30 mins for anything and sometomes a lot less.
We are going this Easter and we are hoping it won't be as crowded as all the guidebooks suggest.

We find that the parks are a little less busy the last two weeks in August as the local schools have usually gone back. They seem to return to school between 8-14th August.

We went for the first three weeks of August last year and didn't find the parks overly crowded - although the weather was very wet which could have made a difference. The popular rides will always have queues so make sure you use a fastpass or equivilent tickets wherever possible.
