    when we should eat

Ime going in April and would like some advice on what the best time to fill up. Should we do the parks really early, get there for 8am, or should we fill up at the likes of ponderosa first and get to the parks a little later.Or should we eat in the park (light snack) then have buffet meal when we leave. What do you all do, any advice would be great.

    Thanks Marv

Ponderosas open at 7am. It was not unknown for my family to be one of the first in!!
We always used to go to the Parks early, and always filled up before going. When the kids were younger they didn't want to stop during the day to eat, epecially not to queue for food in the Parks, so having had a great breakfast, we only used to get an icecream at lunchtime.

Don't forget that Perkins are open 24/7 and so are many Dennys. You can get great breakfasts in both of these places too, especially Dennys with their Original Grand Slam Breakfast - 2 eggs, 2 sausage links, 2 bacon and 2 pancakes with maple syrup, all for $3.29. I can taste it now!!!!!!

This lot sticks to my ribs all day long and gives me all the energy I need to be able to cope with "running" round the Parks!!

    Have a great time.

All depends on if you have children with you or not.

The wife and I tend to get up early and over to the parks first thing so as to try and beat much of the crowd, however we eat on the go and take snacks with us to eat as and when we are in the parks etc.

I realise that with children this is not always possible as they tend to like to eat first, although with all the excitement they can tend to loose their appetite.

If you can get to the parks early it will help and if you want an all you can eat breakfast then try them on a non park day, when your not having to clock watch.

Yes, we have 3 children 10,10,12. I know that myself and my 12 year old will find it hard to eat that early in the morning. I was thinking maybe to eat toast or something at the villa then eat later, but i don't want to miss out on the cheap meal as the parks are alot more expensive, from what i have been told.

The Parks will cost you with your 3 children, I would suggest either an early start when Pondarosa etc first opens.

Or a light Breakfast and then stock up on snacks etc from Walmart or Publix and take them with you to eat as you go round.

    I would agree with Carla.

We always go for a big breakfast before hitting the parks.

Our kids especially love waffle house as they can order whatever they want as they go along (they like to sit on the high stools opposite the grill) The service is so quick - we can get in and out of there quicker than even the buffet style breakfast places.

As Ana and Carla have said, we always breakfast before we hit the parks to beat the crowds. The advantage is that you can do a couple of the popular rides before the queues build up. Breakfast at Ponderosa, Denny's etc is so filling that it takes us adults right through till evening and the kids only ask for a snack or an ice cream late afternoon.

Marv, I'm not a breakfast person normally, and at home I need to be up and about for a few hours before I can face food, however when in Florida I can eat a breakfast, no matter how early it is!! It's amazing how hungry you can be when you wake up. People underestimate just how much energy it can take to "do the Parks" and if you don't eat before you go then you'll end up spending a fortune in the Parks on "grazing food" especially with kids the ages yours are!

We have 2 small children who need to be fed during the day, we found that they have at Disney a small McDonalds where you can get Fries, this is usually enough to last our 2 until dinner time, where we will then stop at Denny's or the like to get a meal.

I would just see how you go at the first park and work it out from there! [msnsmile]

Yes your right carla, holidays i do seem to be able to polish of a fried brekkie and i am still able to stand up. I think it may be better to do a big breakfast then the parks, it will save us some $$ for more souveniers. Is it best to get to the parks just before the gates open or just after?

    Thanks Marv
