Flew with Thomas Cook direct from Newcastle to Sanford in May this year.

Flight out was fine, seat back tv etc.

Only gripe was with return flight they kept the lights on far too long and only had the lights out for about 1.5 to 2 hours of an 8 hour night flight when all i wanted to do was get my down for a kip.

Thanks for the responses peeps . Feel a little more reassured now. Flying direct from Manchester - no idea what type of plane.

As for having the lights on and not being able to sleep I have a solution. When I used to work shifts I had great trouble trying to sleep during the day. I used a fleece headband - the type used by people who ski to keep their ears warm while not covering theirs heads - and just pulled it over my eyes - works really well and nice and comfortable [^]
