Ours was absolutely brilliant but then it was in 2002 too! We went to the Renaissance for their buffet (got any picky eaters?) where you can help yourself to as much or as little as you like and they include champagne. Around $40 a head.

We were at the Renaissance with Blott. As well as the usual fare, they had lamb, mint sauce and cauliflower! You may say why the excitement, but if you lived here and had not seen the like in months, you would know!! They also had pretty much eveything else including loads of seafood. And piles of different puds to try. Renaissance books up early. If you booked late you got a choice of Xmas dinner at 10.30 am or 3 pm.
I also heard good reports from a friend on Celebration Hotel. Apparently the free champagne really flowed. About the same price.
