What kind of heat should we expect first two weeks in August? Also, will the rain put a dampener on our holiday in more ways than one?!! We know the parks will be busy, but we're tied to school holidays.

The weather will be hot and humid - I would guess that temps will be in the early to mid 90's with close to 100% humidity.
The mornings will be better for the sun shine with Thunderstorms in the afternoon, ( although not every afternoon ) these usually start just after lunch and can go on until late afternoon early evening - and boy does it rain !!!
The best investment we ever made was to buy an umbrella each and also Plastic Mac's ( there are like coloured Bin Bags but with Hoods ) not very attractive but worth every penny.
Disney sell them in different colours ( depending on which park you buy them in ) - otherwise a Publix or Wallmart will sell the same thing but they will be cheaper.
These are a must, they are light easy to fold and keep you dry ( most of the time )- the rain shouldn't depend you spirits in away its fun![]()
Buy them when you first get to the Park as its no fun running between shops in the pooring rain trying to buy one along with everyone else.
Of course if it does rain / thunder then the Parades usually get cancelled![]()

When we were in Florida last August it was hot and dry until about 4pm and then the rain clouds gathered and the showers began and continued for most of the evening. This happened most days and didn't dampen our entusiasm for Florida, we learned to plan our days around the showers.[msnsmile2]

Hi Bigbrother and welcome!
You can expect at least 90-100 degrees in August, with mid/high humidity too. Being a tropical climate it does rain in Florida, especially during the summer months, and you can expect it around the same time each day for about 10/15 minutes, but it will definitely not spoil your holiday. Once the rain stops you'll see the sun shining and the steam rising, it causes no disturbance to your holiday - just think of it as a little shower sent to cool you off! [msncool]
You'll have great time in Florida!
What about the weather early June? Thanks.
May and early June are usually nice weather - warm, not too humid and not too wet. From about mid June onwards is when the rain starts though.
Unlike in the UK, it never lasts for long and it's WARM rain!
