    How is Orlando in October?

    Hi all

Been a good few years since my last trip out but this year I have booked for October, 30th to 16th.

I've only ever been in July and August and know what it is like for overcast and storms. Wondering if October is a bit sunnier and imagine it is still almost as hot?

    Thanks

    Hi

In my opinion October is the perfect time of year to go to Orlando, it is quieter in the parks and the weather was very sunny but a bit cooler than in the summer months, we have always chosen to go at that time of the year. This time because of circumstances, we have to go at the beginning of September, so it will be interesting to see the difference in the parks etc.

I went to Florida in October for around 15 years and always found the weather to be much more comfortable (but still very warm) than in the summer months. Unfortunately, I've had a couple of bad experiences with hurricanes over recent years and actually had to cancel my trip in 2017 because of Irma. Odds are that you won't have a similar problem and I am only posting to make you aware but I have to say that it has to some extent put me off that time of year.

What I won't do in future is book well in advance just in case of another hurricane but if all is OK closer to the date I might well return at that time of year.

Interesting points thanks. Never thought about the hurricane side of things!

I was reading that before Irma, Florida seemed to be Hurricane (Category 3+) free for over 10 years. Obviously not to say it won't happen again, but hopefully everything will be OK.

We went to Florida 6th Oct this year, a couple of weeks after Irma and it had no impact on our holiday whatsoever. We spent the last 10 days in Marco Island where Irma made landfall and although there was more evidence of the damage here, nothing that would have spoiled our vacation.
We were there for Rita a good few years ago as well and although we had a couple of wet windy days we also had a lot of gloriously hot sunny weather.
Hurricanes do affect Orlando but very rarely, coastal areas are far more likely to be impacted.
We have been to Florida in Oct for the last 14 years and will continue to do so, hot sunny weather with very little rainfall and the parks and restaurants are much quieter.
    You will have a ball.

October is our favourite time to go. Weather is lovely with only the odd chilly morning. We're off to Florida again on 11th October 2018 for 2 weeks.

We always go in October and love it. The hurricane season is June till the end of November so if that would put you of you would need to go between December and May. I am here at the moment and it has been quite cold. (Good weather for decorating though)

    Thanks all.

Been five times but always late July and in to August.
This is a first for me, looking forward to it as I imagine the weather is a bit sunnier than July and August where to be honest it can be mostly overcast.
