So if I go to Universal or IoA during the day, and pay for parking, do I need to pay again at night?

Assuming you leave the park, drive off somewhere and come back, then no. But you do need to show your original receipt for parking that you paid for.

Note, when arriving at the car parking multi storey, the 2 right lanes are being used to direct people for volcano bay parking, so avoid these in the morning and early afternoon.
