Thanks so much for all the above reponses. I just have to get 'clued up' on wireless laptop technology.
I assume that you can use a normal laptop and buy the card, or something.
Yes - you want to get either a USB or PMCIA wireless card for your laptop - it will come with the necessary software if required. There are two standards for PC based systems 'g' or 'b' - 'g' is faster and more expensive, but as the internet connection will only be to a 'b' standard anyway it will do just the same and save a few pennies.
Once installed and in range of a connection you will get a message in the taskbar that a wireless internet connection is available - you can click on this for further info and to connect to it - you will need to agree to connect to a non-secure network, so ensure you have a good firewall installed. I've found that XP SP2 causes problems with my wireless connection so have had to uninstall it and would recommend a proper firewall program like Norton or even the free Zonealarms instead.
It is by far the fastest way to connect, however for just e-mail you can use a dial up connection and I use access4free as mentioned - although you do need to reconfigure your outgoing mail server info if you use a non-web based viewer for e-mail. An alternative is that Walgreens sell pre-paid internet discs - a CD that will give you say 100 hrs of internet access using Sprint or the like. This is a bit like the prepaid phone cards that you get.
Hope this helps a little.

The other thing that you can try (if it is a Windows PC) is to try the free trial of MSN bundled with Windows. It is a bit of faff, in the same way as AOL, and tries to disguise that you are connecting to the internet - wanting to contain you within MSN. However when we were in Boston in April and I didn't know the Access4Free dial-up numbers I used the MSN link to at least get online and then get the Access4Free numbers. I then closed the account at the end of the holiday and wasn't charged anything. It also uses a toll-free number to get you up and running, until you establish your local number. You may need to go in to add/remove programs from the control panel and then Add/remove winows components and choose MSN Explorer.
Saves getting a freebie cover disk.
Just wondered if we would have been having this discussion 10 years ago?
Personally when I walk out the door on Friday, I am uncontactable as far as work is concerned until 3rd November.

Hello
There is a Coffee Shop & Internet Cafe on Lake Buena Vista Factory Outlets on the 535, I don't know how much they charge.
Chris this is only a 10 minute or less drive from Crescent Lakes, go straight accoss the 192 on and join the 535 and it is on the right hand side.
Hope this helps.
