    Stopover in Miami

We have decided to stay in an airport hotel and collect the car the following day to drive up to Orlando. Can anyone recommend a hotel?

    Stopover in Miami

we have spent the night in the on airport hotel. nothing special but super convenient. not sure what chain it is, maybe marriot but not sure

we have also stayed at the crowne plaza near the airport and that was very good and had free shuttle to airport.

First time we did this we stayed at the hotel in the airport but since then we have been using Hampton Inn over at Doral as they offer a free transfer to and from the airport.

We are doing this in August as the flights to Miami were half the Orlando ones. We are flying with Virgin so will get to go on the Dream liner at last. We should have been on it a couple of years ago with Thomson but the flight was delayed both ways and the plane was substituted. We have booked a night at the airport hotel so that we can make a fresh start the next morning. I hate the first part of the journey, trying to find the H27 (our sat nav is too old to be updated and all the roads around Miami airport changed a few years ago) - any tips ? Have a hunt around on several hotel booking sites as the price does vary a lot. We are paying just over £100 for a room for 3 also with cash back.
We intend to spend the last few days of our holiday in the keys, as our villa is booked, and as it is an evening flight home, we will drive straight to the airport, possibly with a night or two in Miami it's self.

    Hi Diane
Thanks for letting us know. We have our seats booked and the seat map shows a dream liner so maybe it is changing for the summer. The dream liner is a bonus but not the end of the world if we don't get it !

    Sue

ps just checked and it is the Boeing 787- the dream liner.

It is now very easy to get from the airport car hire to US 27. Exit the garage and follow to the lights, turn right on to FL953 which is Le Jeune Rd 42nd Ave, cross the lights at NW 31st Street and then get move to the left as the exit ramp for the 27 is next and is exit on the left.

If you can copy this map it may give you a heads up on what to expect.
