school holidays

Im sure it has been asked before but cant find the answer !

Can anyone tell me when English schools break up for summer holidays and also when do they go back ?

Just a general date, Im sure different regions will be slightly different.

Hertfordshire break up from 17 July - return 2 September. Private schools break up at least 1 week earlier

This year in Essex it is 23rd July to 3rd September, am sure there will be variations on these dates with different categories of schools and different counties.

I think Scotland breaks up sooner. I'm sure someone can clarify the date on here.

I break up for the summer in Surrey is 21 July-2 September 2015.

Ours break up on 17th July and return on 1st September.

Scottish Schools usually break up at the end of June and return early to mid august meaning you can usually get very good deals on flights out of Glasgow for the last 2 weeks of the English school holidays.
