    SPLENDID CHINA DRAGON SIGN

Hello there, can anyone tell me if the Splendid China Dragon sign is still there now that this has attraction has gone, as we are planning to use it as a landmark for giving directions to our villa. Many thanks

It was still there in mid January - looking in a bit of a sorry state but still standing.

It is still there at the moment but I guess it could go anytime. If you use the mid point between Mile marker 4 and 5 at the Red Lobster, you should be okay.

So sad. I am really hoping they leave it there. It will be like losing a little part of Kissimmee if it goes........

Does the dragon belong to Splendid China? I thought it reflected an Eastern influence in the area - Formosa gardens and so on. Do we need a SOD (save our dragon) campaign as well as Save Disney?

The Winn Dixie on that stretch has a very eastern decor to fit the Formosa gardens theme so why not?

I think it should stay it is a great landmark, just like the Disney arch the big orange and the giant wizard holding that orb thingie. We stayed at Oak Island last year and knew exactly where it was because of the dragon.[msncool]

The area is known as china town in some quarters so the dragons may stay!

i think we do need the dragon for the guys with bad sense of direction. dragon is a landmark for many people like me.if Blott is serious i may be able to assist with the paint job. just dont want to be arrested for vandalism and breaching peace.
