    7 seater / 8 seater question

Howdy, long time no post, planning a return visit so trying to put a budget together, hopefully you can help, there is a significant difference in price. Sorry if it's been asked before.

Five adults & two eleven year olds, so seven medium sized suitcases & seven small carry on's

    7 or 8 seater?

    Are all the seats fullsize?

Better off going for two cars?

    Thanks in advance,

    Alan

I would not want to put 3 people in the back of a 7 seater, the 8 seater would be better as the 2 eleven year olds could go in the back, still think it would be a bit tight. You would also have to have some of the luggage on your knees as I doubt you would get 7 suitcases in the trunk.

Are you considering an SUV, or a minivan?

The eight seater minivan has either seven or eight full size seats, whereas the SUV has to smaller seats in the third row. Like Lyn says, I wouldn't want to put adults in them, but some models are exceptions.

The SUV will never give you enough luggage room for everyone's cases and chances are neither will the minivan, although the 8 seater minivan gives you an option of stacking a few cases in the empty seat. Better still, fold it down for even more room.

Worst case scenario, a couple of people could take a cab to/from the airport, allowing you to fold the third row of seats down flat to get all the luggage in. It's only two journeys, after all.

Thanks for the replies, think we may opt for two cars, if two or three of us want to pop out, we will not have to take a bus with us lol

May I suggest a seven seater and a small car?

That way, if all of you are going to the same place, you can travel together (and save on the exorbitant parking fees!)
