Us too. The last thing we want is for them to have to take a contract out locally as it won't be cheap. It could be that the daughter has a debit card so they might be ok to rent as planned.

OMG ! You guys are AWSOME ! ( as they say here in the USA), disaster averted, we loaded up her Debit card & it was accepted no bother, totally our fault, should have read the small print, now at the villa overlooking a lake , bliss, just getting into gear & heading off on a segway ! & then boggy creek. Thanks again for all the help if things had not worked out . As I said earlier the site is the best.
We have used the young driver option in the past. Having read the instructions, we were prepared to use my son's credit card when we arrived at the desk, but the clerk took mine with no questions at all. I'm sure this isn't the correct procedure, but in general they don't seem to pay too much attention to whose card they are using provided they have a card and a signature. I suppose it helps if the surname is the same.
Of course, it's more than likely that as soon as you really need them to ignore the rules, they won't.
