    credit card holder

    I have paid for our carhire with my credit card, however we have the YDP & my daughter is the youngest named driver & does not have a credit card, will the be a problem ??

    P.S. We leave UK in 2 hours !! Just read the small print

    Here is Roulla's reply (sorry for the short notice but she's on US time).

    She's also going to try emailing you just in case you don't see this here. The email might not work as we don't have any orders with the email address on your forum user and we have more than one Young Driver Product due for pickup today and tomorrow so are not sure which one is your order.

    I can confirm that the lead driver must have a major credit card in their name when collecting the car.

    With YDP, the card must be in the name of the lead driver, who must be the youngest driver.

    Most major cards are accepted including Master Card, Amex and Visa. Visa Debit is generally accepted (excluding Electron cards). Switch / Maestro / Solo cards are not accepted.

    If collection is tomorrow, then we may be able to amend this one. If it’s for today then we will need to cancel and he can rebook.

    Update: We've managed to work out which order it's from and Roulla is emailing you now. Looks like you are collecting tomorrow so as long as you have email access this afternoon we should be able to sort it out for you. You don't need to print the voucher off to collect the car, so just show the agent the voucher on your phone screen on arrival and you'll be fine as Alamo are voucher less anyway.

    The main issue is it looks like we'll have to take the young driver off the car hire if she does not have a credit card in her name she can use. Roulla will of course advise further by email.

    I second that, I was trying to rack my brains for the last time I saw this sort of personal service for a volume product... couldn't come up with another example at all. Particularly impressive when you understand that the prices are top value as well.

    Thanks for all that, we will leave everything as it is, worst case we will take her off, still have another young driver so no money lost, and if anyone new is reading this , the service and help and advice you get on the site CANNOT be matched anywhere , many thanks again

    Thanks for the kind comments . I'm not 100% sure you can do as you suggest and just change the lead driver on arrival (I'll check with our supplier in the meantime). It might be possible but you might end up having to take a new contract out at local prices - ouch!

    Do you still have time to change the lead driver name before you go as this would ensure you could collect with absolutely no problems or possible issues.

    Bad news I'm afraid. Our supplier has just replied as follows:

    We cannot swap names on rentals it will be a cancellation and re book, and they certainly wont be able to do this locally, everything has to be in the lead drivers name, unless the client has a debit card as they can use one of these at Orlando
    If you do have issues at the desk, if you have internet access, just do a new booking on our website in the correct name and pay in full and you will get an immediate voucher to use at the desk (you can show them the Alamo confirmation number on your phone as this is all they need).

    Then email us asking for a cancel and full refund on the existing booking as you could not use it.

    Looking at the flight number you gave on the order, you're already in the air on the way to Florida, but if not, email us marked urgent and we'll get things swapped over before you depart.
