Car upgrade for final few days.

Hi,

My son and his family are going to Orlando in August for just over three weeks. He is flying to Fort Lauderdale (cheapest price) staying overnight and driving up to Orlando the next day.

His problem is what size of car. For price he wants to go for a Ford Escape/RAV4 or similar, going to the next size up is a lot more expensive, there are two adults an three children 12/10 and 6. He knows either of those vehicles will be big enough for the journey up and out and about but he is worried about coming back with his bags much fuller. I suggested to him to check if he can get it all in, if not upgrade for the last couple of days. As his original agreement will be to be pick up and return to F.L. would this be feesable.

Any suggestions appreciated.

If you really want to change car then just do two one way rentals. There are no drop off charges within Florida so this is quite normal.

Having said that we have used this type of car before and there is a reasonable amount of room . It just depends on how many cases you plan to take and/or bring back. Check out the two posts below as then give a good idea of what you can get in this size of car.
