    Miami to Orlando

    Hi,

We have changed our plans a bit for our week at the end of November and are now going to stay 4 nights in Orlando and then 3 nights at South Beach in Miami. This means we will be travelling back to Orlando on Thanksgiving day. Does anyone know whether the roads will be quiet or busy during the day on Thanksgiving? Thanks

Quiet, everyone will be at home in my experience.

Thanks Mark, I was just concerned that people would be travelling to be with their families...

There will be some, but mostly just locally. The distance travelers will be heading to their destinations on Wednesday and returning home over the weekend.

I think between 3 1/2 and 4 hours, although I have never done it before so really have no idea...

It's 220 miles from the St. Cloud turnpike junction to downtown Miami.

If you could run the entire distance at 70 mph then a little over 3 hours.

However I have done the trip a number of times to catch a cruise ship at either Ft. Lauderdale or Miami. I can therefore tell you that with the time you add at each end you will be looking at close to 4 hours overall. If you plan for this then you will not be surprised.
