Disney Board Walk, Is this a place you can visit like downtown disney or is it open only to resort visitors. We are looking for something different and this popped up but doesn't really specify what you can do.

The Boardwalk is open to everyone. Nice on an evening and quieter then Downtown Disney. They often have a roaming magician or balloon modeler which enthralls the kids (of all ages!!). You will need ID to gain access to the carpark - your driving licence or passport will do fine.
We like it there but it is a little too quiet for some.
Have fun.
We really enjoy the Board Walk.
It is a lovely place to take a walk or boat ride.
It also makes a nice break when visiting Epcot to have a stroll and enjoy a 'Kitchen Sink' ice cream.
We like to walk from The Board Walk to Hollywood Studios in the evening.
As already mentioned you will be asked for id when entering the car park but just show a drivers license and say you are visiting.
You can also see epcot's aerial fireworks from the bridge close to the epcot entrance.
Also, the boat's are free to get on and off.
There is also a car park on the other side of the road to the hotel that is intended for visitors. It can get busy in high season but is very close to the access point for the Boardwalk. It a pleasant place to visit during the day too.
with the extra car park you don't need to show id. Lots of people like the Espn sports bar. We have been meaning to to go Jelly ROlls and the duelling pianos but not got to it yet. You can walk round the lake and look at the swan and dolphin hotel, beach and yacht club. We always wander round Christmas to see their decorations and gingerbread and chocolate creations. One of the hotels (can't remeber which often has a huge screen outside on the beach and shows movies after a campfire marshmallow roasting and sing along. (last year it was Santa Claus showing when we went.
