I would complete two customs forms if in doubt. It only takes a couple of minutes to fill them in on the plane and it would be a pain to have to do one while in the queue with all your luggage, children etc. We have always been told it is one per family (all with the same name) at the same address.

We came out on Saturday (20th) on the 1pm Virgin flight from Gatwick. We were held on the plane for 10/15 min as the immigration hall was full. We were one of the first off as we were seated near the door and the hall was very full, however as our daughter has special needs we were directed straight to a US residents queue and only waited a few minutes - so can't tell you how long the wait would have been, but I think it would have been long ! As we got to the carousel, our cases had already arrived and were all being taken off and lined up along a wall by airport staff.

We travelled from Gatwick on 6th on BA 11.15 flight, we were off the plane fairly quickly and caught the tail end of Manchester Virgin flight in immigration, fortunately we landed 8 mins before Gatwick Virgin. we had cleared immigration, collected bags, collected car and driven to villa within 1 hour and 35 mins of landing, thats good going![msnsmile2]
My son travelled on Virgin 11.15 from Gatwick on 11th. Back seat of plane and landed behind the Manchester flight, ( there was no BA flight that day) we waited almost 2 hours for him to appear through to main terminal.[msneek]
its the luck of the draw really.

That s the reason we fly into Tampa, we can be In our villa quicker than waiting at Orlando. We have booed into Tampa and out of Orlando.
It is of course different if you have an indirect flight and do immigration somewhere else.
